Castle Rock is the Douglas County seat, set halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs and named for the flat-topped butte that overlooks downtown. It has grown quickly since the 1990s while keeping a walkable historic core.
Chelsey has represented buyers and sellers here from Crystal Valley Ranch and The Meadows to Cobblestone Ranch on the Parker side of town.
Most homes are in master-planned communities with their own trails, pools and clubhouses — The Meadows on the west side, Crystal Valley Ranch to the south, and the Villages at Castle Rock (including Cobblestone Ranch) to the east. Downtown has a small stock of older homes within walking distance of Wilcox Street.
Rock Park leads up to the base of the butte, where a lighted star has been displayed every holiday season since the 1930s. Philip S. Miller Park offers trails, a zip line and the 200-step Challenge Hill, and open-space trails thread through most of the planned communities.
Downtown Castle Rock has restaurants, breweries and Festival Park, which hosts events through the summer. The Promenade and the Outlets at Castle Rock cover most shopping.
I-25 is the spine of the town. Founders Parkway and Crowfoot Valley Road connect Castle Rock to Parker, which is why many buyers search both towns at once.
